What do I have to Do to Become a Facilitator?
You need to read one of the two Appreciative Living books, agree to act in service of the vision, and read and follow the Learning Circle Facilitator Guide. You also need to be subscribed to the free Appreciative Living Facilitator email list.

What are the Two Appreciative Living books?
The materials were designed to work with either book, so you can choose either of the following:

1. Appreciative Living: The Principles of Appreciative Inquiry in Personal Life
2. The Joy of Appreciative Living: Your 28-Day Plan to Greater Happiness in 3 Incredibly Easy Steps.

Here is What the Facilitator Package Includes:
In order to be sure you have everything you need to be successful, you will receive all of the following when you sign up to be a Learning Circle facilitator:

• Learning Circle Facilitator Guide, which comes complete with everything you need to know to run an Appreciative Living Learning Circle. It includes information on how to organize and plan your Learning Circle, location ideas, appreciative facilitation tips and techniques, marketing ideas, and detailed agendas for each week.
• Learning Circle Annotated Participant Guide (this is the second section of the Facilitator Guide). Contains the detailed Guide participants use, but with additional notes and comments for facilitators to help facilitate the group along.
• Subscription to the Facilitator email list, providing additional support, notices of material changes and updates, and other helpful information.
• Free advertising for your Learning Circle on the facilitator page of the Appreciative Living website for six months.
• Access to the special Facilitator Support Webpage that includes additional marketing materials and ideas, downloadable exercise templates, feedback forums, and other support.
• The option to purchase a license to print your own Participant Guides, that will typically pay for itself after running just one Learning Circle.

How Many Circles Can I Facilitate?
Right now you can facilitate as many Learning Circles as you like after making the one-time purchase.

What Materials do I have to Provide for Participants?
Each participant needs to have one Learning Circle Participant Guide and one of the Appreciative Living books. The facilitator supplies these materials and typically passes the cost onto participants. If cost is an issue for participants, please contact us and we will do all we can to help. We offer a variety of payment options, including scholarships, sliding scale, and non-profit and international rates. We are passionate about sharing this message, and don’t want cost to get in the way of running a Learning Circle.

Why Are the Materials Priced So low?
There was much debate about pricing in the larger community that created these materials, and in the end we decided they had to truly be affordable for this work to spread into the world in a significant way. The concern was that people would think the quality of the materials was low if they were priced too cheaply, but we decided to take that chance rather than have people pass us by thinking they could not afford the materials.

At the same time, we realize that even the low costs we set for the materials will still be too high for some, especially those in developing countries and elsewhere. We offer scholarships, sliding scale, and reduced non-profit and international rates. Please contact us if you need financial assistance and we will be happy to work with you. Facilitators may also purchase a license to print the Participant Guides to further reduce costs, especially in international locations where shipping costs are higher.

How Long Does it Take to Get the Facilitator Materials?
Orders are typically processed, packaged and shipped within 48 business hours of receipt. The license to print Participant Guides with the downloadable file is sent immediately after ordering. The invitation to the facilitator email list along with the link to the facilitator webpage are manually  emailed, typically within 24 business hours of receipt or less.
